I have 2 kids, a son who is 7 and a daughter who is 4 and they have been going to Trio Martial Arts Academy since September of 2009. As a birthday present my son wanted to learn karate. So I began looking for a place that offered structure, discipline, fun and a good challenge along with affordable tuition. I visited 2 other karate schools before my son took a free trial class at TMA. During the trial class I saw how much my son learned in just 45minutes and how much fun he had learning it. I was also impressed with the flexibility and endurance of the other kids there and for the respect that they had for Sensei Bret. He is a fantastic instructor and inspires the kids to always do their best at home, at school and at karate. Having been there for a few months I have seen tremendous progress in all of the kids not only in their coordination but also improvements in attitudes and behavior. So TMA has my vote for the structure, discipline, fun and challenge and the only other thing on my list was the price. When I asked, “how much?” the cost turned out to be lower than the other schools I had previously visited. I knew that this was the school that had everything I was looking for and my kids continue to love it too.

Our 18-year-old son, Casey, began taking lessons under the direction of Sensei Bret Gordon at Trio Martial Arts Academy just 5 months ago. He greatly enjoys his lessons and we are especially happy to see the commitment and discipline he has developed. Casey had had no previous instruction in the martial arts-however, in the short time he has been working with the Sensei Bret at TMA he has successfully competed in three tournaments including taking first place in sparring at the Orlando Challenge and outcompeting a black belt in sparring in a recent International TaeKwonDo Federation (ITF) event in Daytona Beach. Our son, Wesley, with instruction and additional coaching from the Sensei Bret, also competed well at the ITF event-coming in second in sparring, having only lost to a well-experienced Black Belt. I prefer Trio Martial Arts Academy because many people are given a chance to compete in tournaments. Also stripes are put on your belt and when you have three black stripes, you can test for your next belt. My final reason is everyone can learn to use a weapon.
